aroma espresso bar Set To Open Farm-to-Table Café aroma espresso Barn

Fully-functioning farm, 19th century barn transformed into hip, healthy hangout

**UPDATE: You all know this was an April Fool’s joke right?**

E-I-E-I-espress-O! aroma espresso bar Canada has bought the farm – literally! Celebrating its 10th year of operation in Canada, the brand is excited to announce its newest dining concept: aroma espresso Barn. Set to open on a rural property two hours west of Toronto near the banks of Lake Ontario, The Barn features over 100 items currently available at all aroma locations made using only fresh ingredients cultivated on the two-acre property.

“We’re creating a really unique experience and often joke eating at The Barn will be like ‘The 100-Metre Diet’,” says Roald MacDonald, General Manager at aroma espresso Barn. “Our kitchen staff can reach out the window to pick a fresh tomato off the vine or visit the chicken coop for a fresh egg; even the milk in your coffee will come from our very own cows… that smell also comes from our cows. Sorry.”

The property features a fully-functioning farm with a 120-year old farmhouse painstakingly restored and transformed into the aroma espresso Barn, a 2,200 sq. ft. café with soaring ceilings, ample tractor parking and space for 65 people to dine on the ground floor, including stables converted to dining booths and hay-bale bench seating.

The Barn’s second level promises to be a neighborhood hub, functioning as a yoga studio, art gallery, acoustic concert venue and league axe-throwing space. The patio features a covered outdoor espresso bar constructed completely of salvaged wood from the surrounding properties and seats an additional 45 people downwind from the cow pasture. Sorry.

TL;DR aroma espresso bar opens The Barn:

  • Restored 19th-century farmhouse converted to hip and healthy hangout
  • Over 100 items available freshly made to order and sourced from farm-to-table
  • Opening this summer!

aroma espresso bar Expands To Ottawa With 33rd Canadian Café

The Ottawa Citizen featured aroma espresso bar on the front cover of their Food section as part of a story on the growing trend of healthy grab and go restaurants in the city. Read about here, and don’t miss the recipe for our hearty and nutritious Freekeh Salad!

We could have gone anywhere when we decided to open the first aroma espresso bar outside Southern Ontario.

Our sights have long been set on cities like Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary. But here’s the thing. Ottawa recently ranked second on MoneySense’s Canada’s Best Places to Live. Ottawa is also considered among the most educated cities in the country. Ottawa is like the Bureka of Canadian cities – people aren’t quite sure what it’s all about it until they experience it for themselves and fall in love.

On Wednesday, February 17, we opened our 33rd Canadian location at The Shops at Lansdowne in Lansdowne Park, nestled in Ottawa’s hip and historic Glebe neighbourhood.

“Ottawa has always felt like home to me and I’m excited to enter the flourishing food scene and bring a casual café of this calibre to the capital,” says Alasdair Grant, operator of aroma espresso bar at Lansdowne Park. “aroma in Ottawa is looking forward to being active in the Glebe community and across the city, helping strengthen the city’s growing reputation as a dining destination.”

TL;DR #aromaOttawa:

  • Now open in Ottawa!
  • Located at Lansdowne Park in the Glebe
  • First store outside Southern Ontario

Welcome To The Newest Aroma Espresso Bar at Mount Sinai Hospital

At 6:30am on December 15, we opened for business at our 32nd and newest location in Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital.

The full aroma experience can now be enjoyed in the hospital’s brand-new $5 million food court, funded by RioCan. In interviews, representatives from the company stressed the RioCan Food Hall will quickly become “an important element to the conveniences offered to patients, families and staff.”

We open early at Mount Sinai and are easily accessible from inside the hospital or through its Murray Street entrance.

Local residents are also encouraged to stop by for a freshly brewed coffee on the way to work, hand-crafted gourmet salad for lunch, or our signature Power Breakfast for a weekend treat. Hospital food never tasted so good!

TL;DR #aromaMountSinai:

  • Now open in the brand-new RioCan Food Hall!
  • Our 32nd location in Canada.
  • Full kitchen, full menu, full-service catering.

Thirty and Counting…

On September 9, we opened in Downtown Markham, our newest and 30th store in Canada. It was an important milestone for aroma espresso bar, and one we would not have achieved without our amazing and loyal customers.

We wasted no time in opening our 31st location only two weeks later, in the gorgeous new expansion wing at Sherway Gardens.
